Welcome to Northeast STIHL!

Located in Shelton, Connecticut, Northeast is one of 6 distributors within the STIHL Inc. family.

Northeast STIHL can trace its roots to at least four different independent STIHL distributorships. STIHL Inc. purchased New England STIHL in 1994. The name later changed to Northeast STIHL, and the Branch began serving Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, Vermont, New Hampshire and Rhode Island. In 1996, Northeast STIHL began to distribute to New Jersey and New York by adding Metro STIHL. Finally, the addition of Keystone STIHL in 1999 added Pennsylvania to the list of states.

One of the first Branch Managers, Steve Meriam joined the branch from STIHL Limited, Canada and he is now Manager of National Sales and Product Development in Virginia Beach. Current Branch Manager, Nick Jiannas, has been with STIHL since July 1995, and worked at Pacific STIHL, Mid-Atlantic STIHL and STIHL Inc. before joining Northeast STIHL. There are over 50 employees working throughout Northeast’s 9-state territory.

The facility is now 63,000 square feet; the most recent 40,000 square foot addition was added in 1999 in preparation for Keystone STIHL’s added volume of servicing STIHL dealers. The servicing dealers are in diverse geographical areas ranging from urban New York City to rural western Pennsylvania and the territories serviced by Northeast STIHL can experience weather conditions ranging from severe thunderstorms to brutal ice blizzards. Despite the unique challenges, Northeast STIHL has the largest sales volume of all the STIHL branches.
