Position Responsibilities:

  • Directs, supervises, and coordinates machine set-ups and operations requiring a broad knowledge of extrusion and injection molding processes, plastic compounds, automation knowledge and production engineering applications to provide economical part/product manufacturing that meets quality, quantity, schedule, and cost requirements.
  • Organizes and assigns work to utilize available skills, knowledge and experience, labor hours, machines and tooling to the best advantages to obtain most favorable production costs, quality and workmanship.
  • Performs start-up on plastic extrusion machines and injection molding machines after changeover. Directs, advises, and mentors lower level technicians.
  • Provides information and collaborates with Engineering, Tool & Die, Production Planning, and other departments to assist with and/or implement such programs related to work simplification, cost reduction, new tooling and methods, labor hour planning, scheduling, machine repairing and maintenance.
  • Participates in and coordinates vacation schedules and employee performance reviews. Assists in the selection of new employees during the interview process. Recommends disciplinary action to manager.


  • Bachelor’s degree in related discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience with responsibilities listed above in a high volume manufacturing environment.
  • Experience implementing lean manufacturing methodologies and managing a team of production employees.
  • Strong interpersonal and leaderships skills.
  • Must be shift flexible.
