Automation Technician (Relocate to Virginia Beach)

STIHL Inc. is always seeking highly motivated technicians to support our award winning manufacturing plant.  We are looking for Automation Technicians to join our Polymers (Injection Molding) team.  You will be responsible for repairing, modifying and maintaining all robotic automation cells and assisting Polymers Process Engineering with equipment modifications and projects.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Preventative and corrective maintenance of automation equipment (i.e 6-axis robots, support equipment, End-of-Arm Tooling, pad printers, part feeding systems, vision inspection systems, etc.)
  • Perform automated equipment changeover procedures and make adjustments as required to maximize equipment performance.
  • Perform Fanuc robot program position touchups and minor program modifications to maximize equipment performance.
  • Perform basic troubleshooting on electromechanical and pneumatic equipment.
  • Setup, troubleshoot, and modify the robotics End-of-Arm Tooling used to handle parts.
  • Completes daily report detailing any significant issues relating to equipment performance.
  • Completes or generates required paperwork to record set up procedures, settings, etc.

Requirements:

  • Mechanical Associates Degree or equivalent (mechanical / electrical technology degree preferred)
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software, including Word, Excel, Power Point
  • Mechanically inclined, self-motivated.
  • 1 year related experience and/or training.
  • Working knowledge of electromechanical and pneumatic systems.
