Marketing & Advertising Specialist

Hillsborough, NC

In this position, you will promote STIHL products and services in a manner that maximizes efficiencies in marketing and advertising, establish focused marketing programs to address our emerging and established product lines, as well as utilize both internal and external media sources to promote the STIHL image.


  • Assist in creative development with printed advertising/marketing programs.
  • Works directly with various advertising groups, agencies and publishers to coordinate campaigns and ensure cost efficiencies.
  • Monitors, tracks and reports on the progress of dealer programs/promotions/campaigns, including their effectiveness and cost efficiencies.
  • Administers advertising programs and maintains an accurate and current spreadsheet on advertising expenses compared to budget.
  • Pursues public relations efforts locally and with STIHL Inc., furnishing information and articles relating to important branch events. 
  • Coordinates meeting planning for Territory Managers, dealers, and branch sponsored events
  • Plans and prepares branch trade shows, and attends trade association meetings.
  • Responsible for set-up, maintenance, and administration of dealer websites.
  • May create seasonal sales programs and assists in the communication and delivery of the programs and will assist in the creation, implementation and reporting of any customized dealer merchandise programs.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned or needed.





  • Associate’s degree or higher is preferred; preferably in Marketing, Communications, or a related discipline.
  • 2+ years of related marketing and/or advertising experience is preferred.
  • Proficiency with MS Office programs.
  • Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign) or other related programs is preferred.
  • Must currently reside in, or be willing to relocate to an area near Hillsborough, NC.
